What Sacrifice Is Left?

Updated: Aug 20, 2020

According to Scripture, it is written that no sacrifices can be made for people who decide to sin after they have found out the truth. They are God’s enemies, and they can look forward to terrible judgment and a furious fire. If two or more witnesses accused someone of breaking the Law of Moses, that person could be put to death. Remember that there are three witnesses, when we break the law of Moses and of God. It is much worse to dishonor God’s Son and to disgrace the blood of the promise that made us holy. Furthermore, it is just as bad to insult Holy Spirit, who shows us mercy. We know that God has said He will punish and take revenge.

However, there is much truth to be told so that others will not fall into the hands of an angry God. God will judge His people. In this case, it is a lie to say we can keep on sinning. Because we are saved and leave it at face value, we are easily misled about the precious blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary. It is almost as if though we enjoy putting nails in the hands and feet of Jesus and pierce His side every time, daily, every minute, every second we need the precious blood of Jesus to cover our sins. Our sins were not saved by grace. We were saved from the punishment we deserved when we called on His name.

Our sins needed the atonement of His blood to cleanse us. We called on the Name of Jesus to save us from hell, and the Blood of Jesus to wash us clean while here on earth. Both the Name and the Blood of Jesus were necessary for us to know that He did everything He could to get us back in right standing with God. Though we may be in right standing with God through the name and blood of Jesus, we need to hold fast to our position of this righteousness through Christ. This might shock a few out there to know, as soon as we walk in through the door of our self, we enter into a realm of enemy trying to get us dirty again. We should not be the same as we were when we first believed on the Lord. We should not be easily thwarted into believing the schemes of the enemy, or to gratify a temporal desire, as the deceiver would promise.

We need the continual assistance, help, and guidance of Holy Spirit, because we cannot live as God’s children doing what we used to do before we knew Jesus as our Savior. So if we are still living saved by grace, and we are on way to Heaven, I have to ask how do we get cleansed from our new sins and the ones we have accumulated throughout our new life in Christ?

It is not by grace, because we are saved by it. It is not by shedding more or new blood to cleanse us again. We have to go through a process of conviction, repentance, and head in the direction of holiness.
